Its Raining!! It’s Dublin- Lana & Liam

The one where all their 11.11 wishes came true….

Lana and Liam the sneak peeks….bacon sambos, hidden rings, eight bridesmaids, Dublin bus tours, Guinness lovers, wet feet and the biggest of smiles. This was the story of Lana and Liam at Dublin City hall.

Rain in Dublin isn’t a surprise but when it comes to weddings, it has a way of making things even more romantic. This City Hall wedding in the heart of Dublin City Centre was one of those days where the drizzle added charm, not chaos. With umbrellas in hand and laughter in the air, this couple embraced every moment with joy.

As a documentary wedding photographer in Dublin, I live for weddings like this full of emotion, unscripted laughs, and quiet in-between moments that say everything.

Citty Hall is one of Dublin’s most iconic wedding venues. Its grand Georgian pillars, high ceilings, and soft natural light make it perfect for intimate ceremonies. On this particular day, the rain tapped gently on the windows as the couple exchanged vows in front of close family and friends.

The atmosphere was relaxed and full of warmth. No fuss, no rigid posing. Just genuine happiness and quiet excitement. That’s what I love about documentary wedding photography, it lets you be in the moment without feeling like you're performing for the camera.

After the ceremony, we jumped on a Dublin tour bus with a quick stop off at Dublin’s Guinness store house the no1 attraction according to trip advisor. And with a quick hop off we managed to snap a few photos between the crowds. at the end we stoped at St Stephens Green and as we stepped out into the streets of Dublin City Centre, rain and all. With just a clear umbrella and a big grin, and some alone time for just them two casually stopping for congrats from well-wishers and sneaky kisses under shop awnings.

It wasn’t about perfect weather or staged shots it was about capturing the story as it unfolded. Wet streets glistening, wind in the bride’s hair, laughter echoing down side streets… the magic was in the messiness.

If you’re planning a City Hall wedding in Dublin, don’t stress about the weather. Embrace it. Some of the most beautiful, natural photos happen when you let go of expectations.

Why Choose a Documentary Wedding Photographer in Dublin?

A documentary approach means I won’t be interrupting your day or asking you to “look here and smile.” Instead, I’m quietly observing, ready to capture the little things your dad wiping his glasses after a tear, your partner’s face the moment you walk in, your best friend cracking up during the ceremony.

This style suits couples who want relaxed, candid wedding photography that tells the real story of their day. Especially in a city like Dublin, where every corner has character, it’s about letting the location and your connection shine through.

Rain or shine, your wedding day will be unforgettable. Dublin’s City Hall offers a timeless backdrop, and with a documentary approach, every laugh, glance, and spontaneous moment is yours to keep forever.
